Scenario Special Rules
- The Wakefield Trap: The Lancastrian nobles at Pontefract (Somerset, Clifford, Exeter) start within 1-2 squares of the Duke of York. Historically, York left the safety of Sandal Castle to fight them and died. Yorkist players should be wary of being outnumbered in Yorkshire early on.
- The Welsh March: Edward of March starts at Ludlow with Hastings. He must deal with the Earls of Wiltshire and Pembroke (Jasper Tudor) coming from the West (triggering Mortimer’s Cross) before he can march on London.
- The King’s Rescue: If a Lancastrian noble enters London while the Yorkists are absent, or wins a battle there, Henry VI is “Liberated.” If he is liberated, the Lancastrian player gains the Chancellor office immediately.
- Towton Weather: During any battle in Yorkshire or the North between Feb and March, all Archery fire (if using optional battle rules) is reduced in effectiveness to represent the blinding snowstorm of Towton.
- Henry VI does not need to be executed if the player also has Yorkist hiers in their control
